Ever since I first got involved with photography, I've always been fascinated by black and white. It's my feeling that it takes on a more artistic expression. The above photo, taken along the boardwalk to the Fire Island Lighthouse, Robert Moses State Park field 5, was shot at f/8.0, 1/200 sec and ISO 100 (That's a little bit of sun glare in the upper right.) Canon 70D, Tamron 16-300 at 35mm (~50mm full-frame equivalent). It is important to note that this image was not shot in "Monochrome" mode on the camera. It was shot in full RAW and converted to black and white in post processing. I do not recommend ever shooting in B&W on your camera ... you can always convert a color image to B&W, but if you shoot in B&W, the color is lost.
